That’s why the Missouri University of Science and Technology’s (Missouri S&T) graduate certificate in human factors psychology is a perfect fit. You know better than most that no technology succeeds without considering human interaction.

This highly interdisciplinary 100% online graduate certificate is ideal for professionals who want to advance their careers with a focus on the intersection of humans and technology. You’ll take rigorous courses in human factors with nationally recognized specialists and choose from electives in diverse subjects like occupational safety, ability and customer satisfaction. Upon completion, your strengthened skills will create possibilities in a host of industries whose future depends on an expert grasp of the human perspective.

Priority admissions is given to students who meet the following criteria:

  • An overall GPA of 3.5 or greater
  • An overall Psychology GPA of 3.5 or greater 
  • Courses completed in social science research methods and data analyses/statistics, and has research experience 
  • Major in Psychology preferred but not required

Standard admissions criteria includes the following:

  • An overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • An overall Psychology GPA of 3.25 or greater
  • Courses completed in social science research methods and data analyses/statistics; no research experience required 
  • Major in Psychology or a related field (e.g., Business, HR Management, Sociology, Political Science, Education, etc.)

We consider all applications holistically.

Applicants should expect to start the program in the Fall. However, students may start in a Spring semester if needed. There is no summer start date - students can only apply for Spring or Fall semesters.

Pathway to a Master's Degree

Are you a working professional who wants to earn your master's degree, but you don’t have time to take the GRE/GMAT? Then start in a graduate certificate program. Graduate certificates were designed as a pathway to a master's degree.* The admission requirements are more relaxed and credit earned will count toward your degree. Once you successfully earn your graduate certificate, you can continue with the corresponding master's degree without having to take the GRE/GMAT.

Courses are offered asynchronously, meaning they do not have regular meetings. They may consist of various media and content — such as online discussions, videos, quizzes and recordings — that students review and complete at the time of their choice.
